63th read: The Garden (Into Shadow Collection #1)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I picked up this collection since Lev Grossman (one of my favourites authors as a teenager) wrote one of the short stories in it, but I’m happy to discover some great new authors in the process.

Each story is unrelated to the previous one, so you can start anywhere.

REVIEW

The style of this one was very dream-like.

It alternated between prose & poetry. Both had strong moments I enjoyed.

I should have expected the vague/ambiguous ending, but I didn’t. I got frustrated & confused because I don’t want to guess what happens, I want to know. It’s one of these cases where I crave certainty.
