I read this one as a teenager and fell in love.
Waiting a decade to read the story elevated the experience, somehow. I felt connected to Kenji, who also struggled to remember moments from his childhood relevant to the story.

SYNOPSIS
Humanity, having faced extinction at the end of the 20th century, would not have entered the new millennium if it weren’t for them. In 1969, during their youth, they created a symbol. In 1997, as the coming disaster slowly starts to unfold, that symbol returns. This is the story of a group of boys who try to save the world.

REVIEW
20th Century Boys is one of my all-time favourite manga. It’s a masterpiece. The years made me forget just how much I loved it, but wow. I really do.
This story perfectly captures the bittersweet nostalgia of childhood, the formative friendships we forge & forget as get we older… It makes me feel so many emotions at once.
I’m buying the volumes one month at a time (since they’re a little pricy!) and I’ll be lending my copies to my father & uncles when I’m done. I hope they enjoy them as much as me.
