SYNOPSIS

Torment Part Two is a dark, taboo, MC, contemporary romance.

My dreams are gone.
I’m trapped, controlled, and defeated.

I made a deal that I have to stick to, if I want to keep everyone-including myself-safe.
Shay has given me an ultimatum; be his or someone I love will pay the price. I’ve been trying to figure out how to survive my new life, but the constant demand to satisfy Shay to keep Manic at bay, is taking its toll.

As time passes, I find myself growing comfortable in my cage, and my priorities start to shift. But when secrets start to unveil themselves, I begin to question everyone around me. Who is lying? Who can I trust?

My protector turned into my tormentor, and now, he’s something I don’t know how to live without.

REVIEW

Torment: Part Two brought me a lot of emotions, but anger was the loudest. I wanted to pull Mina from the page, to keep her close and protected. I still had sympathy for Shay in the previous book, but it all evaporated at the tattoo parlour. How dare he? I was also furious at James: it’s your responsibility to put a stop to this, as her guardian/parent…

I like the idea of the ending, but had issues with the execution.

I felt like the author was trying her hardest to redeem Shay and/or grant him absolution. I’m not sure he fully deserves that grace. He created the situation that made him a martyr on his own. I have no pity for Shay.

(SPOILERS AHEAD TO EXPLAIN WHY I CANNOT FORGIVE SHAY)

He groomed Mina since the age of 7, forced her to drink alcohol when she was uncomfortable, intimidated her with violence & threat, isolated her through jealousy & possessiveness, made her feel responsible for his violence towards others, tattooed/branded her by force, raped her daily, ended her career/passion in dance through injury, tortured & killed her mother…
