9th read: Six of Crows

I struggled to focus on this one. Maybe audiobook was the wrong choice (the 2 for 1 sale was impossible to resist!) and I should blame the format.

I wasn’t sure whether to call it a flop.

Having friends to discuss this one with made it a little easier to enjoy, at the very least.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

REVIEW

My interest rose and waned based on who was present in the scene. I enjoyed two PoV character (Kaz & Inej), I hated one (Mathias) and felt indifferent towards the rest until we reached the latter chapters (Jesper, Wylan & Nina)

I had problems with the age of the characters. Their backstories felt too large for their young teen years & they behaved more like adults. Those details felt disjointed and bothered me.

I enjoyed some scenes, but the majority bored me. I probably won’t be reading the next book in the series.
